The Plumbers & Steamfitters Local No. 7 Annuity, Pension and Welfare Plans were established with the specific purpose of providing catastrophic health insurance and supplemental retirement income for the members of Plumbers & Steamfitters Local No. 7.

The Welfare Plan has evolved from providing catastrophic health insurance, to providing a full range of comprehensive benefits, including free well visits, prescription drug coverage, dental coverage, vision and hearing benefits.  Through the use of their personal accounts members may further defray their out-of-pocket medical costs.  It is our mission to continue to provide benefits that enhance the quality of life of our members and their families.

The Pension Plan has been providing benefits to our members for over 60 years.  It has been the goal of the Board of Trustees to enhance the pension plan from a plan that provided supplemental retirement income at age 65 to one that will eventually provide a substantial benefit as early as age 55.  In an effort to meet our participant retirement needs nine different pension options are offered.  We will continue to offer flexible plans to meet the needs of our participants into the future.

The Annuity Plan started in January 2004 was begun to help defray the erosion of purchasing power that occurs in defined benefit plans without a COLA provision.  In addition contributions to this plan can help protect retired members from escalating healthcare costs.
